What you need:
- Baking soda
- Washing up liquid
- Red/orange food colouring
- Beaker with a narrow mouth
- White vinegar
Add a few drops of food colouring into the vinegar to create a
fiery colour. This will be your lava. Shake well to mix the colour
in.
Place the beaker on a tray or in something that will catch the
lava! Add about three heaped tea spoonfuls of baking soda into the
empty beaker.
Squeeze in a couple of drops of washing up liquid into the
beaker.
When you are ready for an eruption, pour the coloured vinegar
into the beaker. Then lava will flow everywhere!
For an even more impressive volcano, why don't you get creative
and build a volcano out of papier mâché? Make sure you leave a hole
in the top for the beaker mouth.
