NASA plans biggest rocket ever!

World’s biggest ever rocket revealed

As the last ever space shuttle blasts off, NASA is keeping its eye on the future. NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) will be the world's biggest ever rocket.

At 100 metres tall, the SLS will be taller than the Statue of Liberty and have a lift-off power 30 times greater than a 747 jet!

NASA hopes that the SLS will allow humans to travel further in the solar system than we've ever gone before - beyond the moon,  all the way to Mars.

We'll be able to learn more about how the solar system formed, where Earth's water came from and how we might be able to colonise places in far-off space.

There are even plans for space tourists to travel in a capsule attached to the rocket, which would generate money for NASA to invest in more space exploration projects.
