discovery'. Let's celebrate the citizen
scientist and inventor! Everything around us has at some
point been invented. Everyday problems lead to new innovations to
find solutions.

New for National Science & Engineering Week
2013!
Kicking off on 15 March 2013, this year National Science &
Engineering Week explores 'Invention & discovery'.
Anyone can organise an event or activity for the
Week and we provide tailored ideas and supporting
resources to help you with the planning.
Three new activity packs
These additions to our series of activity packs feature easy
ideas for hands-on activities with supporting videos and
interactive whiteboard compatibility:
- for 5 - 11 year olds: 'Accidental
discoveries'

- for 11- 16 year olds: 'Genius inventions'

- for special educational needs groups of all
ages: 'Super science', a symbol-supported activity pack.

Free packs full of
science and engineering hands-on activities and projects are
produced each year for National Science
& Engineering Week, and are available to download
all year round.

- Over 300 easy-to-run activities suitable for
at home or school.
- Activities are curriculum-linked with
teachers/organiser notes.
- The activity packs are designed to be carried out at
minimal cost using items you would find in your average
school or educational establishment (or even from your kitchen
cupboard).
- For the kids they will be hands-on, fun, and
have a wow factor!
- Each activity pack is themed.
- Those with the flag below next to them are provided in both
Welsh and English.
