How to:

Ask an adult to use the scissors. Cutting a plastic bottle is hard work!

1. Pierce two small holes in the bottom of the bottle and feed the string through.

2. Pierce two holes on opposite sides of the bottle and push a plastic spoon through. Repeat with another spoon.

3. Cut four larger holes above where the plastic spoons enter the bottle.

4. Carefully fill the bird feeder with bird food and put the lid back on the bottle.

5. Hang your bird feeder on a tree branch or washing line.

Wait for your bird visitors! You can use the RSPB bird identifier to see which birds visit your garden.

Sometimes the bird food can go mouldy. If it does, pour the food away. Then, clean the bottle with some hot water and replace the food.
