EXERCISE TIME
Time to exercise those legs ashore but someone forgot to pack the football gear. Your challenge: improvise! - develop a bat and ball game using old newspapers.
What you need:
- Plenty of old newspapers
- Tape
What to do:
- Think about bat and ball games you have played before
- Could any of these games be adapted for newspaper equipment!? or can you develop an entirely new game?
- Construct your equipment. Have a trial. Make any necessary modifications and ...get exercising!
Points to think about:
- Will the game be played indoors/outdoors?
- What sort of ball? size/weight (scrunched up paper would make a lightweight ball, rolled paper a more substantial ball)
- What sort of bat?
- How many players?
- Size of pitch?
- Rules?
- Darwin developed his theory of evolution described in his book 'On the Origin of Species' (first published 1859) drawing heavily on observations made on the Beagle's voyage. Darwin produced five revised editions of the book, the sixth and final edition being published in 1872
