Party Food... Spider Surprise
You will need:
* 1 packet of instant whip
* 300 ml (Half pint) of chilled milk
* Bowl
* Chocolate teacake
* 100g (4 oz) plain or milk chocolate
* Jelly spider sweets
* Mini smarties
What to do:
1. Make up the instant whip as directed on the packet.
2. Pour into a bowl and place in the fridge to set.
3. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water.
4. Dribble the melted chocolate over the surface of the pudding using a teaspoon so that it resembles a web.
5. Place a chocolate teacake in the centre of the web and add legs using the melted chocolate and mini smartie eyes.
6. Add little jelly spiders for effect.
Most spiders leave a trail of silk as they walk. Since spiders live just about everywhere, spider silk is all over the place. Spider silk is stronger than the same weight of steel and it can stretch very far without breaking. That's the real secret of its strength.
Spiders can get caught in spider webs. You don't see it very often because they're careful with their feet. The tiny little tips of a spider's legs are oily. That keeps them from getting trapped on the sticky silk.
