Invitations
Fishy Invite:
You will need:
- Piece of blue card
- Ziploc sandwich bag
- Envelopes
- Felt tip pens
- Sand
- Shells
What to do:
- Cut a piece of blue card that fits exactly inside a Ziploc sandwich bag.
- On the front of the card write something like: "Something Fishy's Goin' On". Then, on the back write: "Under the sea, under the sea, come celebrate turning (birthday number) with me." Underneath can be the child’s name, Port (address), Cast-off (date), Dive time (start time), Resurface (end time), S.O.S (RSVP) with phone number and also "SEA you soon!!".
- In each bag place a small amount of sand, some sea-life confetti, small shells, etc.
- Seal them up and place them in envelopes (preferably blue).
Alternatively:
If you want to improve on this (and the invitations will be hand delivered), after writing laminate the card to ensure that it's waterproof. Then float it in a clear sandwich bag filled halfway with water and blue food colouring, some sand and small shells. Seal the top well! You can then glue a fridge magnet onto the bags for the guests to put on their refrigerator. D who's nine and organising her tenth birthday, emailed to suggest rocks and pebbles for both of these invites - thanks!
