Before you can play the Brightsparks quiz, you'll need to download and install the programme from the Planet Science site onto your computer. The set-up process is easy, and should take just a few minutes.

First of all your computer must have Quicktime 4 or above installed. If you don't have this installed, you can download it for free by clicking on the button below.





Installation Instructions

		First you need to download the Brightsparks application (1.5Mb)
		In the File Download dialogue box, select Save this file to disk, and click on OK.
		In the Save As dialogue box, select Desktop or your My Documents folder. Over the next few minutes, a file will download into that folder called BrightsparksSetup.exe.
		Locate the BrightsparksSetup.exe file. (This will be either on your Desktop or your My Documents folder whichever one you chose.) Double-click on it to start installing the Brightsparks application.
		Work through the installer dialogue boxes, accepting the default options - just click the Next button each time until the installation is complete. The installer places a folder called Brightsparks into your default applications folder - usually your PC's Program Files folder.
		Now you are going to download the questions you need There are four sets of questions, organised by subject: Physics; Biology; Chemistry and Primary Science. Choose one or more of the links below, but download them one link at a time. Each of the files linked below are mini-installers which will guide you through putting the questions in the right place.

		In the File Download dialogue box, select Save this file to disk, and click on OK.
		In the Save As dialogue box, select Desktop or your My Documents folder. Over the next few minutes, the relevant questions installer will download on to Desktop or in your My Documents folder as a file named as indicated in the brackets under the links above eg: BS_PhysicsSetup.exe.
		Locate the file BS_subjectSetup.exe (eg: BS_PhysicsSetup.exe.) you've downloaded. Double-click on it to open the Brightsparks Questions installer.
		Work through the installer dialogue boxes accepting the default options - just click the Next button each time until the installation is complete.
		Note: The installer expects to find Brightsparks in the Program Files folder. If you've installed it anywhere else, you must tell the installer where it is. When the installer shows the Choose Destination Location window, click on the Browse button and locate your Brightsparks folder. Then open the Brightsparks Data folder and finally select the questions folder.

That’s it! Enjoy playing Brightsparks, you should find it’s fairly intuitive once you get going.
