Paula Radcliffe KS1 SC2 2c

Paula is famous for running marathons and setting records! So she gets plenty of exercise training for them. But exercise on its own won’t make you healthy, you have to make sure you eat the right foods to get enough energy and to help your body to be in tip top form inside and out. Paula uses up a lot more energy than someone who sits around and watches telly, so she can eat more, but she still eats healthy food.

Activities:

Children could keep a chart of fruit or vegetables they eat each day, by using a stencil they can easily fill in their chart. Five portions of fruit or vegetables are recommended each day.

Similarly they could keep an exercise chart. For example they could have a list of sports and put roughly how many minutes (using play time as a guide, or how long it takes them to walk to school) they spend doing this exercise. This could also link to maths.
