Laura Bassi was an amazing woman, she worked on electricity and survived! No mean feat since many of her colleagues managed to electrocute themselves…She had her own lab and did loads of experiments on electricity in medicine. Volta, who invented the battery, followed her work as did many other physicists of her time.
