“This House believes in using the Three Little Pigs to grow a heart for the Tin Man.”

Thousands of people in the UK are desperately waiting for organ donors. Many will die waiting. Genetically engineered pig organs may one day be the answer to the organ shortage. Using animal organs for human transplants is called xenotransplantation. People who are against xenotransplantation think it is morally wrong for animals to be used in this way. They worry about animal welfare and the risk of transferring animal diseases to humans.
