scientist assembly in Biggleswade

Teacher Russ Suter of Hitchmead School, Biggleswade Beds had a great idea for science week in 2002 – he wrote an assembly for the school to kick off a day full of science activities.

It was a great success and so he thought he’d share the script with us. Thanks Russ!

You can download the script as a PDF file for use in your own school, and enjoy Russ’s pictures of the occasion, and some of the activities afterwards.

We trust them with children!!

Hitchmead School is a special needs school with 110 pupils and around 25 staff. The pupils mainly have moderate learning difficulties, but it has some of EBD and specific LD pupils as well.

He said: "Even though Science Day seemed to take so long to plan, it was a great success, enjoyed by pupils and (surprised) staff alike. I even managed to get the Head to teach a lesson based on the scientist assembly!"
