It is always hard to organise science-based work experience placements for students, especially in a laboratory situation. Many labs are reluctant to offer placements because of concerns about health and safety. But, help is at hand!
There is an organisation which has been set up to ease the tension between organisations and schools when it comes to work experience. The Education Business Partnership Network has worked with Planet Science to produce a set of guidelines which can be used by both schools and science labs to help organise lab-based placements.
