when does Planet Science start and finish?
Planet Science runs from 10th September 2002 – 31st July 2003.
how will Planet Science affect me?
Planet Science is aimed at young people, their families, their teachers and the wider community. We have a range of projects and activities in development which be announced shortly. In the meantime, we hope you’ll enjoy taking advantage of the activities, games, resources and information you’ll find right here on our site.
how does Planet Science relate to ‘Science Year’?
Science Year was run by the same team, and with similar aims, from September 2001 to 2002. Thanks to its success, it was decided by the DfES that the year would be extended until July 31st 2003. And since the name ‘Science Year’ was no longer appropriate, the campaign was re-launched as ‘Planet Science’.
what is Planet Science trying to achieve?
Planet Science has a clearly stated vision and set of stragegic aims and our activities throughout the campaign will be run in line with these objectives.
how can I find out more about what’s going to be happening?
Probably the best way to make sure you don’t miss anything, is to sign up for our free weekly e-newsletter. Alternatively, make a regular date with the News area of our site, as this is updated weekly and will contain the same information (plus images!)
