For younger students who will relate more to a face and a name than they might a concept.
There are some thoughts on which people might go with which bits of the (specifically) English curriculum. They will also apply to areas of the other UK curricula. The 'people' (including cartoon characters and all sorts besides) are designed to be diverse and interesting.
