This third online resource has been designed to enhance teaching and learning about cutting edge science and issues arising from our ever-increasing ability to manipulate the natural world. Highlights include:
zoos
In this activity, students are challenged to create a presentation about various animals and their respective ideal environments. The arguments for and against keeping animals in captivity are also explored.
immunisation
This citizenship resource explores the science behind immunisation and its role in society in the 21st century.
environment
The impact of the individual on the environment is the subject here. This part of the resource includes materials for tracking your own energy use, discussion aids and even the script for a radio play

Another nerve-racking investigation from the people that brought you Flesh Eaters! This time were talking spontaneous human combustion, and the science behind chemistry and burning.(NB The Human Torch application is currently only available on the CDROM.)
organic farming
Is organic food really better for us? This resource focuses on plant growth, and its implications for health and food safety.

How to get your CD ROMs
One free copy of each ASE Science Year CD ROM is available to all UK middle and secondary schools. English schools should register by email to jenifer.burden@scienceyear.com, including full name, address and postcode details of your school. Please note that schools in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland do not need to register. CDs will be sent to them from the relevant education office.
Individuals may purchase the full set of CD ROMs for £20.00 (ASE members) or £30.00 (non-members) to cover replication, postage and administration costs. Orders >from overseas will be subject to additional postage charges.
