Busted
Look out - Busted are in the house!
The Busted line-up consists of party animal James Bourne from Southend-On-Sea, the very well-spoken Charlie Simpson from Ipswich, and dude-about-town Mattie Jay from Kingston. And as any fan will tell you, they look great, they play fab guitar, and they write their own songs…
The band was born in 2001, and the guys were speedily signed up by talent-spotters at Universal Records in March 2002. Their catchy debut single, ‘What I Go To School For’, was a song about their passion for a particular teacher, the rather attractive – but fictitious - ‘Miss Mackenzie’. Good to hear they enjoyed their education!
Since then, they’ve entertained us with their own particular brand of guitar spangling pop with ‘Year 3000’, ‘Losing You’ and a tribute to a well-known blonde from across the Atlantic, ‘Britney’.
They’re are devoted to their music, but hey a guy’s got to have some other hobbies too… James is an action man; if he’s not in the studio or at a party he’ll be found on a beach surfing, playing tennis and shooting pool; Mattie’s obsessed with West Ham and Charlie’s idea of a night out would be a Jimmy Eat World gig. Oh, and Mattie fancies Meg Ryan.
