Smart soul songstress Ms Dynamite aka Niomi McLean-Daley first got performing “just for a dare” when she was 17 – now she’s rarely out of the entertainment news. Her album ‘A Little Deeper’ picked up the Mercury Music Prize for Album Of The Year 2002 - as well as two Brits and Three MOBOs.
Dynamite’s debut single ‘Booo!’ was released in May 2001, followed by ‘It Takes More’, ‘Dy-Na-Mi-Tee’ and ‘Put Him Out’. Her career went into orbit once the awards started rolling in, and the bets are on that she’ll be a worldwide superstar anytime soon...
She says what she thinks, and by writing her own lyrics she’s able to share her ideas directly with fans. She hasn’t always had it cushy, but she says, ‘I just wanna give my perspective of life. I guess I'm trying to bring positivity to people and even make light of negative things while encouraging people to think.’
