Friday 14th December 2007 Issue 87

Hello it’s us again! Yes we know it’s not the usual Wired Up day but we couldn’t let you go without wishing you happy holidays, could we?  So have a great time and indulge yourselves to the max. See you in 2008! And talking of which – as the old year hobbles out the door, it takes with it the Wired Up name. Which means that springing into 2008 will be Randomised! You heard it here first.  So if you’ve any ideas for making Randomised the newsletter you’ve always wanted, then let us know at wired-up.news@nesta.org.uk with ‘RANDOM IDEAS’ in the subject line. Have fun!

  1. Winter Winnersland – a bumper pressie from Planet Science
  2. Winners – Family ticket for the IMAX
  3. Rib Busters – Jokes to make you groan…

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter winnersland…

1. Winter Winnersland

Planet Science has got a real festive treat for you! Imagine a quiz/competition where you can’t fail to get the answers right?   A-ha! You get the picture? Planet Science have come up with Winter Winnersland <link to quiz> – scamper through the wintry scene lighting up Christmas lights by answering the questions correctly.  Hurrah! And then you answer a final question and get yourselves in the draw to win a very familiar little festive pal. Good luck and have fun!

2. Gear for Grabs – You’ve got to be in it to win it...

Last week we had a family ticket for Santa vs the Snowman 3D at the Science Museum IMAX 3D Cinema to give away. The lucky winner is Anthony Holland (12) of Barton-le-clay! Well done Anthony, we hope you enjoy the film.

The winner (s) of the November Sticky Quiz are Oel Jackson, Katrina Leigh, Wayne Shelton, Steve Oliver & Joseph Krogulec.

Keep entering – you never know! Next time - it could be YOU…

3. Rib Busters - Funny ha ha AND sometimes funny weird!

Why is it difficult to keep a secret at the North Pole?
Because your teeth chatter.

Where does Santa go to learn how to slide down chimneys?
A chimnesium

And St Augustine’s Junior School, Peterborough have recorded a new version of a traditional Christmas song – ‘The Twelve Bugs of Christmas’. Sing along everyone! And an aphid on an oak tree!

Finally have a look at the dancing Santa.
